Akin is currently the Business Manager of the School of Estate, he also leads the Business Development and Strategy Unit of Realty Point Limited. Since joining the company in 2014, he has been responsible for many facets of the company’s activities including building sustainable local and global partnerships and developing overall clientele base, to improve the overall performance of RPL’s top-line and bottom-line levels.
As an astute business analyst, he is primarily responsible for sourcing capital for RPL’s real estate projects, corporate branding and product development, investment analysis, project feasibility and viability appraisals, market research, business development, corporate liaison and advisory services.
Prior to joining RPL, he worked as a Senior Executive Real Estate Analyst with Pison Housing Company, a real estate financial and development advisory firm for about 5 years where he led the Residential Real Estate Practice of the firm and also doubled as the Business Development Manager.
While at Pison, Akin was the project manager for a World Bank funded Statewide Housing Supply Assessment for Nigeria with particular focus on Lagos, Abuja, Rivers and Ogun States. He was also the project director of an Affordable Housing Demand Survey for Lagos State which was funded by the Department for International Development (DFID) UK. In addition to these, he executed several market research and feasibility studies, business plans, real estate investment appraisals and capital raising services for both corporate clients of the company and real estate developers. He was also an asset portfolio manager in a real estate firm and a relationship manager in the banking sector with Sterling Bank Plc, before joining Pison Housing Company.
Akin holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Lagos, in Estate Management. He is a member of the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBATM) and the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV). He has attended and facilitated several local and international real estate and housing finance trainings, workshops and conferences particularly in Brazil, Kenya and Ghana. He is currently Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) candidate at the University of Lagos.
